Socceroo Mark Bresciano says compartiot Lucas Neill had his full support while he searched for a new club.
“I don’t blame him for taking his time," Bresciano said.
“Clubs were out there to try and get him. Maybe he wasn’t happy with what there was available and we all support him.”
He added: “As a player when you're coming up to the end of your career, and I don’t know how many years Neill will want to play , you’ve got to make these last years the best of your career.”
On his decision to move to Everton, he added: “It’s a good move, he can start playing again, start training again with a team and be back with the Aussies.”
